Dr. Ripps founded Connecticut Family Orthopedics in 1975. He specializes in hip and knee replacement surgery and surgery of the hand. He has been in practice for over forty years. In 2008, he was elected Orthopedist of the Year in Connecticut by the Connecticut Orthopedic Society.
Dr. Ronald A. Ripps received his Bachelor of Arts undergraduate degree from Hamilton College, graduating with honors. He attended Tufts University School of Medicine, Boston, MA, and then completed an internship at Georgetown University Hospital and a general surgical residency at Boston City Hospital. He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam conflict as Chief Flight Surgeon for a SAC wing. At the conclusion of active duty, Dr. Ripps completed an orthopedic residency at Barnes Hospital, Washington University, St. Louis, MO and then opened practice here.
Dr. Ripps has developed one of the busiest medicolegal practices in the state. dealing with disability evaluations in workers comp and personal injury cases. He has had thirty-five year’s experience in record reviews and independent medical exams. He no longer does surgery, but he continues to see patients in the Danbury office. He resides with his wife in Bridgewater.
